| Jammu youths ask FM, RBI to launch 'onion deposits' | | Making jibe at Centre | | JAMMU, Sept 19: Making a jibe over the failure of the union government to keep a check on the rising inflation of essential commodities especially the onions, a Jammu youth has sent a representation to Union Finance Minister, P Chidambaram and Raguram Rajan, Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to launch a new loan scheme so that common masses of the country can buy onions and other vegetables. Mocking futile measures from Congress led UPA to put a cub upon ever growing price of essential commodities, a Jammu Youth Raman Sharma of Jammu (RTI activists) in his letter suggested it and also had taken on the Union Government for their 'Bharat Nirmaan' advertisement campaign. In his communication dated 19/Sept/2013 tossed through registered post to both Union Finance Minister at New Delhi and Governor RBI at Mumbai, the RTI activist states: "I wish to state that as the present government has done so many good things for the people of the country during the past almost four years which are also depicted in the electronic and print media advertisements projecting tall claims of "Bharat Nirmaan". To continue this (in a satiric manner) pace of development and progress and people's prosperity, the applicant states, "I would urge you to kindly launch a new 'Onion Deposit and Loan Scheme' so that even ordinary people of this country can either deposit extra onions available at their homes to the nearest bank and those others aspiring to buy can avail loan to purchase the same. In his submission, he has also offered to be the first privileged client to avail this loan for purchasing eatables for daily meals including onions. "I am hopeful that my suggestion would be considered by your good selves, the letter concludes. Raman however stated that his initiative is only to give a wakeup call to people at the helm of affairs who are totally unaffected due to this unnatural price hike. |
