HC directs IGP to constitute SIT headed by SP Allegations levelled by prosecutrix against SHO 10/1/2013 9:41:24 PM Et Report Jammu, Oct 1: In a petition filed by a rape victim seeking constitution of Special Investigating Team (SIT) headed by a senior police officer and also seeking protection to her and her parents, Justice Tashi Rabstan of High Court after hearing senior advocate Sunil Sethi assisted by advocate Deewkar Sharma directed Inspector General of Police Jammu to constitute a SIT headed by a rank of SP and file status report in FIR No 23/2013 dated April 5, 2013 registered u/s 363/109 RPC at P/S Manjakote Rajouri by or before the next date of hearing. The Court also directed IGP Jammu to provide security to the petitioner (victim) and further directed to enquire about the allegations alleged against SHO P/S Manjakote namely Mehmood Khan and take action strictly in accordance with law as victim has leveled serious allegations against him in statement recorded by Registrar Judicial.
