| Enquiries only exonerate incumbent Ministers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: Various enquiries announced by the State Government in different scams and issues have only proved mere an eye wash as the main accused have always been exonerated. Haji Yousuf's death inside the Chief Minister's residence in Srinagar, the main accused, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself was given a clean chit by the enquiry commission by stating that Yusuf died of cardiac arrest. Haji Yousuf might have died of cardiac arrest but did anybody probe as to what led to cardiac arrest of this whistleblower of National Conference (NC) who was to expose the NC high command in many corruption cases. But before he could say something, Haji Yousuf lost his life. He was healthy when he entered the Chief Minister's residence but within one hour his condition got so bad that he was taken to hospital for treatment. Another case is of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) fraudulent transaction in the name of its president. The main accused of this scam was JKCA president and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah but when the enquiry was announced, it was only aimed at giving a clean chit to him. The fraudulent transaction spoke of Dr Farooq's involvement very loudly but the axe fell on the Treasurer, Ehsan Mirza and Abdullah was let free. Then comes the case of former Education Minister and present Haj and Auqaf Minister, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, who was facing graft charges for using his influence to manage his foster son's successful conduct of 12th class examination in connivance with the JK BOSE officials. He had to lose his Ministry on the issue and was given another portfolio when a commission of inquiry gave clean chit to him. Another case is of present Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir, who also has been given clean chit in infamous sex scandal of 2006. In this sex scandal, names of many people were to surface but the case was taken out of the State to shield few people. Then there was a case against former Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, who was also given a clean chit by this Government. The clean chit was aimed at facilitating his entry at an important place from where they could make sure that their close aids get clean chits as well. There are cases pending against many Ministers of present and previous Governments and it is for sure that they will be given clean chit like these players, if Omar Abdullah continues to remain the Chief Minister. These cases have proved that the present coalition Government, working under Omar Abdullah is not sincere about enquiry commissions and has become a defunct Government aimed at giving clean chit to its Ministers. |
