ET REPORT Jammu, Oct 1: A.S.N. Hr.Sec. School, Channi Himmat in collaboration with The Excel Express Newspaper today conducted Inter-School Debate Competition at A.S.N.Hr.Sec.School, Channi Himmat where in students from four Hr. Sec. schools participated. A.K.Kapoor, Chairman Adarsh Educational Trust and The Excel Publication Presided over the function while Kiran Wattal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, Sandeep Mehta KPS, Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Vidya Ratan Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Board of School Education, Prof. Shiv Dev Manhas, Dogri Deptt., University of Jammu and H.R. Fakru, Joint Director School Education were the Guests of Honor. The competition was held in the Topic Gandhi Ji's contribution towards India's development. The students from the following schools participated in the competition:- A.S.N. Hr. Sec. School, Channi Himmat, Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School, Sainik Colony, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Channi Himmat and Jammu Public School, Sainik Colony. The function started with lighting of traditional lamp by the guests followed by Vandey Matram presented by the participants. A.K. Kapoor, Chairman Adarsh Educational Trust presented the welcome address. The Judgment for the Inter-School Debate Competition was done by the panel of experts which were: Dr. S. K. Jain- President Vichaar Kranti Manch International and Surinder Gupta- Ex Jt. Director School Education. Ritesh Kapoor, Administrator of the School during the address briefed that the motto for organizing such competition is to indulge spirit of patriotism, traditions and culture of India amongst the students. He also spoke about the reason for felicitating the guests with such award. He said these officers are working day and night in their respective fields with dedication and diligence and such encouragement from the society boosts their potential. During the Competition, Adarsh Educational Trust, Jammu felicitated Sourabh Bhagat IAS, Director School Education, Jammu, Kiran Wattal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, Sandeep Mehta KPS,Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Vidya Ratan Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Board of School Education and Prof. Shiv Dev Manhas, Dogri Deptt., University of Jammu by presenting them Mahatma Gandhi Sadhbavna Award, A Momento and Shawl for their distinguished services to the society. Winners of the competition: 1st winner Diksha Ganjoo of A.S.N. Hr. Sec. School, Channi Himmat. 2nd Winner Ifra Anjum of Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School, Sainik Colony. 3rd Winner Ruksana Choudhary of Jammu Public School, Sainik Colony. While Sadia of Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School and Zakir Hussain of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Channi HImmat received consolation prizes. Kiran Wattal expressed his gratitude for felicitating him and other guests with such a prestigious award. He added that today in the age of facing world we must be ready to face any of the challenges and must be prepared all the time for our contribution towards the society. He appreciated the efforts of The Excel Express Newspaper for organizing this felicitation ceremony and congratulated A.S.N.Hr.Sec.School for inculcating good habits amongst the students and keeping alive the traditions and Indian culture by organizing such events from time to time. He also congratulated the participating teams for showing wonderful performances. Kiran Wattal, Sandeep Mehta, V.R.Sharma, Prof. Shiv Dev Manhas and P.B. Kapoor also spoke on the occasion. Chief Guest presented Prizes to the winning teams. The function closed with National Anthem. At the end, Uttam Singh Arora presented vote of Thanks. |
