Srinagar, Oct 1: In a fresh gun battle at Keran Sector near Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir's Kupwara district, a trooper was injured critically. Official sources told that Army's 3/3 GR along with reinforcement of 15 RR, 16 GR and 5 ASSAM launched a fresh joint combing operation to nab the hiding militants inside the forest area of Shalbhutoo, who according to sources managed to sneak into this side last week. As such, the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation near the Shalbhutoo forest area. "The hiding militants opened indiscriminate firing upon them ensuing a fresh gunbattle." "During the initial gunfight, a rifleman Kiran Gurang of 15 RR received two bullets on his neck and back side", sources said, adding the injured trooper was immediately airlifted to 92 Base Hospital here in Srinagar in critical condition. |
