Court denies bail to main accused in abuse of mentally retarded girls' case
10/1/2013 9:40:46 PM
Et Report
Jammu, Oct 1: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu SR Gandhi today rejected bail application of one Angad Kumar chowkidar of the Inner Wheel Rotary who was allegedly involved in rape of mentally retarded girls.
The allegations against the accused is that he had committed rape upon the mentally retarded girls staying in the Inner Wheel Rotary Home and he was the chowkidar of the said Home. The Court rejected the bail of the accused after hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli who opposed the bail that the allegations are very serious and observed that accused was supposed to take care of the said children but allegedly he betrayed the trust imposed upon him and inspite of giving protection he sexually ravished them. The Court further observed that the investigation conducted so far by the police pin points the involvement of the accused for the commission of heinous offence and in case bail is granted to him, there is every likelihood to that he temper or influence the prosecution witnesses and jump over the bail. With these observations Court rejected the bail application of the accused. (JNF)
