| Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar organizes Blood Donation Camp | | | ET REPORT JAMMU, Oct 1: In lieu of World Blood Donation day on Tuesday, Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu Organized a Blood Donation Camp today which was inaugurated by Director Health Services Jammu Dr. B.S. Pathania. The camp was organized by the students of ANMT School Gandhi Nagar Jammu after they were briefed about the role of volunteer in blood donation by the principal of the school Dr. Rashmi Koul. In the camp about twenty volunteers donors donated their blood. Speaking on the occasion Director Health Services emphasised the importance of the blood donation for saving the valuable lives of people who generously required this donated blood at the time of emergency & trauma. Since the blood bank of Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu is serving as mother blood bank for many hospitals of peripheral & other health institute. The importance of voluntary blood donation has increased many folds. Medical Superintendent Dr. Romesh Gupta emphasised that between the age of 18- 55 one can voluntary donate at least three times in a year if he is healthy & not suffering from any disease. Volunteers donating blood carries heavy meaning by saving lives and consider highest humanitarian social obligation on the part of individual. |
