Sports Reporter srinagar, Oct 7: Jammu and Kashmir Police XI today qualified for the final of the ongoing State Bank of India (SBI) Football Tournament under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Bakshi Stadium, here today. In the semifinals, played today, J&K Police defeated J&K PDC XI in tie-breaker. Earlier, in the stipulated time, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Earlier, PDC took the first lead when Gulzar successfully netted the free kick awarded in their favour. However, J&K Police brought in the equalizer in the 49th minute through Sandeep Sharma. Meanwhile, Food and Supplies reached the semifinals today beating the formidable side of J&K Forest in tie-breaker. In the given time, the quarterfinal ended in a 2-2 draw. It was Amir who opened the account for Food and Supplies in the very sixth minute. However, Forest XI brought in the equalizer in the 20th minute through Shahid. In 30th minute Shahid netted second goal on a penalty kick awarded in their favour. The tough side of Forest could not hold the lead for long and conceded a goal in the 36th minute to find score on board leveled at 2-2. Aijaz Parvez was the man who scored second goal from Food and Supplies. Now, in the second semifinal, scheduled for October nine at 2.30 pm at Polo Ground, Food and Supplies shall take on J&K Bank XI. |
