State pensioners call for their rights as per pay commission rules

Jammu, Oct 7: The State Pensioners Association has alleged that state govt is only interested in the welfare of the ministers and legislatures while pensioners are being neglected.
This was viewed in a press conference held regarding anti pensioners, anti employees and anti working class attitude of the government.
Madan Lal Abrol general secretary of the Association addressing media said that attitude of the Gove to neglect the pensioners is highly unethical and discriminatory as Govt has failed to accede to the demands of the pensioners. Abrol warned the Govt to fulfill the demands otherwise aggressive agitation throughout the length and breadth of the State would be held. Criticizing the statement made by the Finanace Minister in the assembly that third installment of the arrear has been made but it is not true as it was due in the month of March 2013. The demand of the medical allowance has not been accepted by the Govt whereas the legislatures have got the medical allowance from Rs 300/- to Rs. 3000/- per month as the cost of the medicines are very high and raising day by day it should be Rs. 300/- to Rs 1000/- per month.
It was also alleged that Govt has not accepted the demands of the old pensioners at the age of 75 years, 80 years , 85 Years , 90 year and 95 years and above 100 years which has been raised by the central Govt in the year 2006 @20% , 40%, 60% , 75% and 100%. They have demanded that the benefit of SRO 51, 57 should be given to the pensioners w.e.f 1-1-2006 which is related to the 6th Pay commission, D.A @ 10% be released w.e.f July 2013 @10%. Identity cards to be issued to the all pensioners of the state for medical purposes like Haryana and Punjab, 50% fare should be given to the pensioners as per their order in the state.
The press conference was addressed by B.L.Upadyay ,retd. Judge Pavitar Singh, Mukand Lal Sharma ,. Jasrotia ,. Madan Lal Sharma , Bhushan Pargal , Dev Raj Gupta , Mohd Shafi and others.
