BJP leader calls on Sushma Swaraj, submits report on Kishtwar riots

Kishtwar, Oct 7 : Senior Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader from Kishtwar Sunil Sharma called on leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj at her residence in New Delhi and submitted her a detailed report about the August 9 Kishtwar violence.
As per the press statement issued by the party at Kishtwar today, Sushma Swaraj assured Sunil Sharma that the entire central leadership of the party was at the back of its Kishtwar unit and will go to any extent to ensure the safety of the minority community living there.
She also informed Sunil Sharma that the party leadership is keeping a close follow-up of the events before and after August 9 violence and the partisan role played by the administration.
"The party has taken up the issue of compensation to the traders with Union government and also demanded the transfer of Police and Administrative officers who do not enjoy the confidence of the minority community" Press statement quoted Sushma Swaraj.
Party statement further quoting that Sushma Swaraj has said that the central party leadership endorses the Kishtwar BJP unit demands for strengthening the VDCs and appeals to J&K government to make all possible arrangements to avoid the possibility of migration of minority community from Kishtwar.
While talking to Early Times, Sunil Sharma said that he provided details of the losses suffered and informed Sushma Swaraj that around 109 shops and business establishment had been destroyed during August 9 violence and the loss suffered by traders was more than 16 crore.
He also informed her that several vehicles have been damaged and injuries suffered by elderly members and ladies belonging to minority community.
He also thanked Swaraj for her kind intervention which had boosted the morale of minority community in Kishtwar and added that she had shown keen interest towards the Kishtwar issue and advised him to remain in constant touch with her, beside to provide her regular updates on the latest development in Kishtwar.
