| PK makes veiled attack on CM for Accession statement | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 7 : "Panun Kashmir has been watchful over the proclivity of the Kashmir centric parties for competitive secessionism. At a time when Pakistan has become virulently proactive on our borders and trying to push terrorists in large numbers into our territory, the question of raising the issue of the relationship of J&K with the rest of India is nothing but seditious" Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir, said while addressing press conference. He further said that European ambassador's visit to the state should have been used to convey the concerns of the state regarding Pakistan's unabated sponsorship of proxy war instead they were fed with confused and outdated ideas of soft secessionism. "Such actions on the part of the political leadership of the state would give flip to the already restive situation prevailing in the state and would also encourage other political parties also to this phenomenon of competitive secessionism. With the coming of elections in the near future, there is a lurking fear that the espousal of soft secessionism might become a populist measure for the Kashmir centric parties", he said. Panun Kashmir expressed serious concern that instead of implementing the recommendations of the 137th Report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, the government is working to stage-manage a sham return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley to hoodwink the national opinion in this regard. The PM's special employment package is mired in all kinds of difficulties and the really needy youth of the community have become over aged in the process. The government itself admitted in the Parliament that not a single Kashmiri Pandit returned to the valley under the PM's Package of 1600 crores. This shows the complete infirmity of the entire process but still the government wants to pursue a farce with the community. "It is unfortunate that the government is making false promises with the displaced community and issuing false press statements. The government linking every welfare measure incumbent upon return to the troubled valley shows the insincerity of the state government towards the displaced community. We have always maintained that 'return' and 'rehabilitation' are separate issues and cannot be linked together" he said and added that return and resettlement to the valley was a highly sensitive political issue and can only be addressed politically while "economic rehabilitation" is an issue that deals with our day to day issues of survival." He further announced that they would organize an annual yatra to Annadpur Sahib and Chamkaur Sahib with effect from the current year. Others who present in the press conference included Prof M L Raina and Virender Raina. |
