| Corporal punishment: Mendher student hospitalized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Poonch, Oct 7: A 11th class student was hospitalized after he was allegedly beaten by his two teachers of local Govt Higher Secondary School Dhargloon in Zone Balakote in Mendher of Poonch district today, sources said. "Identified namely as Israr Tanveer Khan (16), son of Tenveer Ahmed,Khan resident of Dhargloon in Mendhar was beaten badly by the teacher brothers working in his school," sources said. Parents of the boy alleged that Physical Education teacher namely Nazier Ahmed and his real brother Master Mohd Yousaf presently posted at Govt Higher secondary School Dhargloon In Zone Balakote were forcing boy to give them favour in managing domestic works especially their fields for few days to cut the grass for cattle. "The boys refused which infuriated the duo who allegedly beat the boy mercilessly, parents alleged further adding, "the boy got fainted during the corporal punishment.' Later, when he regained his conscious and left for his home where he narrated the matter to the parents and his uncle, then the family members shifted the boy to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mendhar where he was hospitalized under MLC/MRD No. 8212. Meanwhile parents have lodged written complaint before Sub District magistrate (SDM) Mendhar and at the Police Station for legal action against teacher. Taking cognizance SDM directed the DyCEO to initiate an inquiry against the two accused . |
