Police claims breakthrough in Rajouri murder

Jammu, Oct 11: The police has claimed to solve the murder of 2nd class student who was kidnapped on Monday after he was on way to home from school for ransom and his body was found on Tuesday from an abandoned house in Bhela colony behind the highly protected area where offices and residences of DIG,DDC and SSP are situated.
Shalik Hussain son of Munsoor Hussain resident of ward No 2 and a student of 2nd class in army school was dropped by the school bus at specified point and was kidnapped by some unidentified person.
Immediately after the news spread in the city about the kidnapping police swung into action and the whole area was cordoned. But no clue about the boy was found and search continued till 2 pm on Tuesday when the police received a call from Bhela colony that a boy body is wrapped in a bag and kept inside a house which was locked for the last few days.
Police reached the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the hospital for legal formalities. After the strong protest by the people who alleged that boy could have been saved had the police searched the whole colony, police constituted a 'special investigation team' under the supervision of Mubassar Latifi with Ayaz Sheikh DSP operation and Sanjay Sharma DSP HQ as its members.
On Wednesday, police picked up a drug peddler identified as Nadeem who during sustained interrogation revealed the names of Abid Manhas and Imitiaz who are his colleagues in sand business.
On Thursday police rounded up Imitiaz his wife Shreen and Abid and during sustained interrogation Imitiaz broke down and admitted that he with the help of his wife had planned the kidnapping for ransom.
He reportedly informed the police that after taking the boy to his rented room in the house of one Zahoor Hussain police constable posted in Sambha district.
They were planning to contact the father of deceased for ransom but when police swung into action and started searches they could not call the father.
To hide their involvement and to avoid search by the police the couple first tried to close the mouth of the boy with adhesive tape but when failed Imitiaz strangulated the boy and later the couple wrapped the body in the bag along with his shoes and school bag.
Imitaiz was a frequent visitor to the house of deceased and was also neigbhourer at a village in Thanamandi tehsil.
Imitiaz had a criminal record and once he had attempted an unsuccessful kidnapping attempt at Thanamandi and was also involved in theft cases.
Police tody also picked up Rubina Kousher wife of Zahoor owner of the house as she had the information that the boy was with Imitiaz in his room and hid the information when the police searched her house.
Before the killing of the boy the mother of the the deceased had called the Imitiaz about his son at about 2.30 am in the morning on Tuesday but he denied and later he killed the boy.
The body was later kept by the couple in the adjoining house which was locked for the last few days after entering from the roof.
Mubassar Latifi, district SP when contacted said that on Saturday the media will be briefed about the breakthrough in this brutal and sensitive murder of 7- year- old student.
