Jammu, Oct 12 : The Bad condition of roads at State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO) complex at Samba has become headache of the industrialists. The authorities are waiting for the funds to be released for repair work. The picture of the Industrial area Samba is becoming worst day by day which has developed resentment among the industrialists and the staff working in the industrial area. The roads in the complex are in most terrible condition, there are no street lights, nothing was there in the name of greenery but unwanted shrubs are coming in the middle of the roads, but the industrialists and the workers has no expectations from the administration, as after many requests nothing has been done so far. "we have requested the officials of the SIDCO to repair the roads street lights inside the complex but nothing has been done to make the complex safe and suitable for the industrialists and their workers," said Sunil Sharma, an employee in a industry at Samba. "Hundreds of workers use to come here at night and due to bad condition of roads and lack of street lights two wheelers usually get skidded off," he added. Kishore Dutta, Senior Manager Estate, SIDCO Industrial Growth Center, Samba, when contacted said that the Central Government has stopped their funding in March 2013. "We do not have sufficient funds to maintain the infrastructure in the complex and the heavy rain during this monsoon has damaged more roads in the Industrial area." Said Kishore Dutta. "We are in process to make a proposal for its repair, which will be sent to the office of the Joint Development Commissioner for sanction of funds," he added. |
