| PDP dissolves Kashmir youth wing | | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Oct 11 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) high command dissolved its Kashmir youth wing today after some irresponsible statements from youth leaders appeared in the press against senior leaders. According to the details received, the president Jammu and Kashmir PDP Mehbooba Mufti had to dissolved the youth wing of Kashmir province at district level and provincial level including coordinators of the party second time since 2011 after some youth leaders of party raised issues within the PDP cadre by issuing irresponsible statements against the senior members of the party in north and south Kashmir. Sources within PDP revealed to early times that in one such incident a statement of district president Shopian of youth wing, Muhammad Abdullah Wani issued a statement against present member of legislative assembly (MLA) Abdul Razak Zawoora of PDP accusing him of failure of raising public issues. Similar statements from North Kashmir forced the president to dissolve the youth wing, they said. However, new cadre at youth level will be framed soon but with many changes. It is the second time since 2011 that PDP high command had to dissolve its youth after its youth cadre committed mistakes. Talking to early times MLA Shopian, Abdul Razak Zawoora said that though he has not filed any kind of complaint against him with the party high command, besides after issuing the statement against me, Muhammad Abdullah though made some correction in his own statement very next days but many youth leaders like him in north Kashmir as well have issued such irresponsible statements against the senior members of party only for their personal motives lingering and such a move was necessary for the party high command to curb now.
Sources also said that in many constituencies of north and south kashmir youth cadre is also demanding party mandates to some youth leaders which in turn has given birth to a rift among the parent and youth members in such respective places and such a move if not controlled can prove hazardous for the overall party structure of PDP in forthcoming assembly elections.
General secretary of youth wing for PDP Kashmir province , Engineer Nazir Ahmad yatoo said that the decision to dissolve and frame the youth wing lies with party high command and as party has dissolved its youth wing they will accordingly frame it again as per the party canons. |
