| Counterfeit currency Rs 3.95 lakh recovered, 2 held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 19: Just after a week when police recovered fake currency worth Rs 7 lakh from a Kashmir based trader at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, Police today arrested two Poonch based youth alongwith counterfeit currency having face value of Rs 3 Lakh and 95 thousand which was recovered from their possession. The duo have been identified namely as Mohd Aziz S/o Fathey Mohd and Sarwar Hussain S/o Hakam Din both residents of Degwar, Poonch "Based on specific information arrested two Poonch based youth and recovered fake currency having face value of Rs 3 Lakh and 95 thousand here on Saturday, police sources said. Sources said that information was developed by SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar and a special naka was laid at Maheshpura Chowk to nab the accused. "During course of checking naka party intercepted two pedestrian on their suspicious movements and from their personal search Police Party recovered huge haul of counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 3 lakh and 95 thousands from their possession, police sources said, adding, "duo was arrested on spot.' In this connection a case FIR No 151/13 U/S 489 RPC has been registered at P/S Bakshi Nagar and investigation is going on to generate further clue. Earlier on October in a major breakthrough, the Special Operation Group (SoG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested one Kashmir based trader Rouf Ahmed Shah alongwith fake currency worth Rs 7.00 lakh from his possession at Jammu Tawi Railway Station while his accomplice too was arrested on the following day after his disclosures. |
