| Restrictions continue in Palhalan | | | Javid A Malla
Srinagar, Oct 19: Amid restrictions, the security forces conducted searches in a few Palhalan localities today to nab the stone pelters. Clahes with police on Eid day had left a police man dead and several wounded. Meanwhile. Clashes broke out in Bramulla to protest arrest of a few youth. Locals said a group of security forces launched a 'search operation' in Dar Mouhalla, Gojri Mouhalla, Bhat Mouhalla and New Colony localities in village. Sources said, around 2 to three youths were arrested by the security forces on Thursday Police and paramilitary forces imposed strictrestrictions which continued on Saturday following a clashes on Wednesday ( Eid day) after police Head Constable Kanwlain Singh of Singhpora Baramulla died and others got injured when their vehicle they were traveling in met an accident before came under stone pelting in palhalan.Although no clashes or stone pelting was reported on Saturday in Palhalan except restrictions. People were confined to indoors, locals said.Meanwhile clashes broke out between youths and police in Main Town of Baramulla after police arrested scores of youths from different places. Eyewitnesses said, "Youth resorted to stone pelting soon after the arrests while and police in retaliation fired tear smoke shells to disperse them" they said and added, the clashes disrupted the moment of traffic. |
