| Corruption, nepotism have been hallmark of Omar led Govt: Vakil | | 'NC frustrated because of losing ground' | | ET Report
Srinagar, Oct 19: Corruption and nepotism have been the hallmark of Omar led coalition government. This was stated by former minister and AICC member, Abdul Gani Vakil today. Vakil said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah could not utilize five years of his tenure properly rather corruption, nepotism; delay in execution of developmental projects has become a routine now. Vakil while addressing party workers convention at Nowpora Sopore has reacted to statement of National Conference Leader Mustafa Kamaal criticizing him for his "nonsense and illogical utterances" He reminded Kamaal about the sacrifices of Congress leaders, legislators and other workers who too were also killed by militants. Vakil castigated the NC leadership for what he said, "not respecting" coalition dharma. "Vakil lambasted NC and said how come they are in coalition with Congress if they really feel that Congress is responsible for killing of NC workers during militancy," he said adding that Congress knows how to maintain and respect coalition Dharma and always desists from such type of utterances otherwise present coalition would have been a history months before. "If NC doesn't want to remain in the coalition and hates Congress, it must quit the Government without any delay rather disrespecting the coalition which doesn't serve any purpose." He said that NC cannot befool common and innocent masses anymore as they know that whenever elections are approaching NC raises emotional issues and slogans and after grabbing power NC forgets all such issues. "NC is dependent on the Congress and without its support they can lose the power and it is because of Congress Omar Abdullah continues to be the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir." Highlighting the achievements of the Congress party that resulted in its popularity, gaining more base and familiarity in the state which is evident from the recent joining of prominent leaders and citizens in the party, Vakil has said that joining process will continue now because people from all walks of the life have now understood the hollow sloganeering of regional parties for securing their respective political gains by sideling the aspirations of the people. |
