| Hr Education, Tech Education, RDD fail to utilize PMRP funds | | | Akshay Azad
Jammu, Oct 19: On one hand state government has vigorously pressed for enhancement of Annual Plan 2013-14, before Planning Commission of India but on the other hand, several government departments have failed to utilize funds allocated under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Package (PMRP) for the past few years. Sources informed Early Times that for the past few years Higher Education, Technical Education and Rural Development department have failed to utilize funds and have been surrendering the same before Planning and Development Department (P&DD). Moreover this time, sources said, the Planning and Development department has given strict directions to these departments for utilize of funds or remain ready to face the axe. "Higher Education, Technical Education and Rural development department have been surrendering the funds for the past few years in a row. These departments shall ensure the utilization of the amount otherwise the funds will not be available in future", the letter issued by P&DD to said departments read as. Under PMRP, the P&DD has conveyed authorization to utilization of Rs. 220.61 Crores from out of savings available under Annual Plan 2013-14 for the projects executed under the state sector Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Package. The projects came under Higher Education included establishment of 10 more degree colleges Phase-II, under Technical Education included establishment of 5 more Industrial Training Institutes Phase-II and under Rural Development Department establishment of 119 model villages. |
