Jammu, Oct 19: In order to check the prices of essential commodities during the festive season, a joint team of Enforcement Wing headed by Assistant Director (Enforcement), alongwith officials of legal metrology Department weights and measures, municipality and the Area Inspectors of CAPD Department under the overall of Director, CAPD Department Jammu conducted vigorous market checking on supervision at Talab Khatikan, Bathindi, Channi, Gandhinagar, Narwal and other adjoining areas.
Various commercial establishments were inspected especially Mutton Sellers, Chicken Sellers, Dhabas, Halwai Shops and Bakery Shops in which around 35 defaulters were challaned and a fine of Rs.13100 was recovered from them for various violations under the provisions of Essential Commodities Act.
The defaulters were directed to Display price list in bold letters at their establishments and refrain from overcharging from the consumers. |
