| JKSCC holds 'peace march' in Padder | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Oct 19: in order to promote peace and communal harmony in Padder Tehsil of mountainous district of Kishtwar which witness sectarian clashes in August, Jammu and Kashmir Senior Citizen Council (JKSCC) working for the maintenance of peace and brotherhood organized a peace march from Gulabgard to Kundal village of the Padder. Led by Abdul Majed Bichoo a large number of prominent citizen and youths from Padder and its adjoining areas, besides large number of students from various schools participated in the peace march in a bid to promote brotherhood and harmony. While addressing the public, Abdul Majeed Bichoo urged the people and particularly the youths to promote peace and communal harmony. He said that peace and brotherhood is the only guarantee of development in this part of the state having vast tourism potential and cautioned the people against communal forces who are hell bent upon creating wedge within social set. Pertinently following August 9 communal violence at Kishtwar, Paddar also witnesses the similar violence when some hooligans allegedly went on rampage and damage the property of majority community in Padder however with the timely action of army (17 RR), police and district administration, the things were controlled before going worst. |
