| Austerity measures taken against unauthorized hoardings | | | Early Times Report kathua, Oct 19: Kathua Municipal Council has taken a strict move against unauthorized hoardings and digital banners in the city following anti-encroachment drive as per the direction of district administration of Kathua here today. Action was taken in targeted areas wayside of college road from Mukharji Chowk to Shaheedi Chowk Kathua from where more than 100 display sheets and hanging hoardings were smashed and taken in to the custody by KMC. On the occasion a JCB machine and a tractor with trolley were engaged for this purpose. The drive was carried out under the supervision of Vinod Sharma Executive Officer Municipal Council and Jatinder Mishra, Tehsildar Kathua who on the occasion said that the number of illegal hoardings and encroachment at waysides of the college road and in market lanes has been increasing for the last few months without KMC's permission due to which severe problems of traffic congestion and hindrance in movement of general public are being reported, that's why the step is taken and strictly. They warned that no hoarding would be allowed to install without the permission of KMC. |
