| MLA Ramban promises model panchayat system if elected to power | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Oct 19: The Member Legislative Assembly, Ramban,Ashok Kumar took a serious exception to the poor quality of construction of the recently constructed building of the Government Primary School at Upper Chilla in Chhampa Panchayat in Ramban and the non relocation of the 11KV wire (iron wire pieces) passing over the school compound. He promised to make every Panchayat a model Panchayat by providing the basic infrastructure in each village during his next tenure if reelected. While on his extensive day long tour to the villages of the Chhampa panchayat of his constituency he also rued the utter negligence of the Power Development Department (PDD) for ignoring the repeated reminders of relocating the 11KV wires passing over the compound of the school which has been posing a danger to the students. He rued the use of poor construction material used in its construction which has resulted in the bending of poor quality roof tin (GIC) sheets on the front edge and also the use of J-hooks which prevent the quick sliding of the snow from the roof thus risking the roof collapse thereby endangering the lives of the students. He also resented the incomplete construction of the school toilets and has asked the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) for necessary action in this regard against the concerned contractor. During his public meeting he also directed the Executive Engineer,PDD to relocate the wires at an earliest. He announced the donation of 100, 50 and 100 wooden desks at a cost of Rs.1000 each for Government Middle, Primary and Middle schools of Upper Chilla, Ranji and Gami respectively from his CDF in the next financial year. Besides assuring to recommend the development of the school ground and boundary wall to the District Youth Sports Officer under the central government scheme he promised to sanction Rs.one lac for the development of the compound besides assuring the sanctioning of Rs.2 lac for the construction of 5000gallon water tank out of his next CDF allocation for the Primary School, Ranji. At Gami he rued the laying of a 3 inch water pipe line through the school compound and the un-electrification of the school. In reply to a public complaint he urged the Leighton Welspun Contractors Pvt.Ltd., the company constructing the Chenani-Nashri tunnel to compensate the villagers of Gami by not only recruiting the locals in its ongoing construction work but also through their goodwill projects in Gami. |
