12/8/2013 10:34:02 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8 : Continuing its attack against the administration of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) for its failure to start construction work on the campus, National Secular Forum (NSF) took out a protest in University Campus to express dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Central University and demanding sacking of over-aged faculty members in Central University . A mid sloganeering, the protestors led by Sukhdev Singh President NSF, raised their demands.
While addressing the protestors President NSF criticized the working of Central University Vice-Chancellor and resented delay in coming up construction work in Central University of Jammu.
He further alleged that there is no accountability in functioning of Central University Jammu.
Singh said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. "University administration in violation of recruitment norms handpicked retired teachers and other staff members.
"As per the Central University Statutes, the serving officials should not be above 65 years but the administration has recruited some teachers who are above 65years," he said. Sukhdev Singh also said that land has been identified by the government but till date this land is not acquired by the CUJ while the question of construction is too far. NSF speakers alleged that the CUJ administration is ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-state subjects holder and hence CUJ, V-C is playing with the sentiments of Jammuties.
"We fail to understand the silence of the organizations which fought for local person as the first Vice Chancellor of the university Jammu had got this prestigious institution after long struggle and no corrupt official should be allowed to ruin this institution," NSF leaders asked.
