| Outcome a trendsetter, guiding force for fence sitters: PDP | | Stunning poll results leave opposition in J&K upbeat | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8: Stunning results in Delhi have left the entire opposition camp, including of course BJP in J&K in an upbeat mood with all parties looking upon the outcome as trendsetter in the state where yearning for a long time is for change of guard, both the ruling coalition partners having created a messy scenario in the name of governance. While BJP is heavily banking upon Modi wave to create magic for anti incumbency factor, main opposition party PDP too is strongly vouching on anticumbency albeit on a different note- that the poll results that emerged today would become a guiding force for fence sitters in Kashmir that if they decide to come out and vote, they can bring a change. Sources within the PDP said that the entire leadership which watched the outcome of elections in all the 4 states keenly, analyzing each factor with political acumen and experience, the party is buyoed over the fact that it is the masses, at least for Delhi who made a scene and outcome different with their grit and sheer determination of bringing about a change, at least for Delhi, though things and issues cannot be completely co-related for J&K political scenario where other factors also matter at the hustings. However, for PDP and NC as main regional mainstream political players in Kashmir, heavy participation of voters certainly makes the whole scene decisive for either of the two parties. Sources said in the small informal meetings PDP leaders discussed the issue threadbare that for both Parliamentary elections as well as Assembly polls, it is imperative for the party to adopt a strategy that would result in participation of people in great numbers in all the constituencies. "people who are tired of present dispensation or not happy with the performance of their Parliamentary representatives and therefore seeking change must learn from the outcome of the Delhi results today....this is certainly an eye. Opener for the coalition partners who must go in for strong introspection....but more than that we want the masses to exercise their right to vote " , said a PDP leader. Yearning for change and at the same time sitting on fence cannot help achieving what they want, he added. As for BJP, while the state unit is in celebration mood and has all the reasons for it given the tremendous overall performance in all the 4 states, it is still banking only on Modi magic, even as this may not entirely help in the outcome here in J&K. Sources said amid a joyous and upbeat mood, murmers have started for central leadership now focussing on J&K, first to cash in on the impact of the results of 4 states and translate it into some harvest for the two key Parliamentary constituencies of Jammu region where more than one strong contenders are waiting eagerly for a nod from the high command. |
