JAMMU, Dec 8: Terming Kashmir as a political problem, the Awami Mutahida Mahaz (AMM) on Saturday said it needs a sustained and meaningful process to resolve it politically. The AMM, an alliance of seven so-called mainstream political parties after a meeting took stock of present political situation of the state and made this outrageous statement, which, inter-alia, read: "We believe that Kashmir is essentially a political problem which can be resolved through a sustained and meaningful political process". Kashmir is not a political problem. In fact, it is not Kashmir problem. It's a problem in Kashmir created by the believers in the two-nation concept that had culminated in the communal partition of India in August 1947, resulted in the gruesome killing of millions of people, caused displacement of population on an unprecedented scale and uprooted the humanity. It's fundamentally communal problem with which an overwhelming majority of the population in the state has nothing to do. Actually, it is the victim of the Kashmiri fanatics who masquerade as democrats and mislead everyone in order to remain in limelight. The communal problem in Kashmir is the creation of the Kashmir-based outfits, both so-called mainstream, which are more dangerous, and the separatists, all controlled by members of a particular religious sect. It is an established fact that all the social and religious groups, barring one which has been misruling the state and exploiting the people since 1947, are ardent believers in the concept of Indian unity and integrity and for the application of the Indian Constitution to the state in full. They are real Indian stakeholders in the state. However, the communal problem in Kashmir can be resolved and it can be resolved by trifurcating the state into Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh states and bifurcating the Valley to set up a separate homeland for the displaced Kashmiri Hindus invested with Union Territory status. This is the only solution available. To go in for another option would be provoke political explosions of portentous dimension across the state. |
