Udhampur , Dec 8 : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal, the District Administration conducted Surprise Market Checks in various areas last evening.
In Chenani tehsil, a team led by Tehsildar Chenani, Om Parkash alongwith Naib Tehsildar Chenani and police personnel checked hygiene in shops, Dhabas, restaurants on the National Highway from Chenani to Kud area of tehsil Chenani.
A fine of Rs. 25100/- was realized on the spot from the defaulters by the team. Similarly, In Majalta and Ramnagar tehsil, teams led by Tehsildar Majlata and Naib Tehsildar Ramnagar along with police personnel booked 15 defaulter and a fine of Rs 4200 was realized on the spot. In Ramnagar tehsil 11 defaulter were fined and Rs 2475 was realized from them.
To keep a check on over charging from the customers, the teams also checked displayed rate list of various food items . The team directed the shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness in and around their shops and sell healthy and good hygienic food items to the consumers.
