| KPs resent delay in framing migrants voter I- Cards | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18: The delay in framing of voter Identity cards by the authorities for the Kashmiri migrants has led to a lot of resentment among the displaced Pandits. The constant delay in preparation of Voter I cards for migrants has been a cause of concern for the community as migrant youth and students undergoing training in various professional colleges outside the State are also facing problems without the voter I Card which is the main proof of identification for a person. The authorities have failed to enlist the bonafide migrants in voter lists for last 24 years now, aggravating their pain of exile. The exiled KPs who are observing 25th holocaust day on January 19 this year blame the Government for their apathy and plight. ``The Government was deliberately ignoring us to force the community to flee to other parts of country for earning their livelihood'' said Ramesh Raina a KP youth of Jagti township. ``We have been denied job opportunities in last 24 years though about three lakh people were given employment in the State during this period'', he said, adding out of 6000 posts announced by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in early 2008 only 1450 were filled up in last six years. This shows the apathy of the Government towards the community. The community is being ignored in each and every filed and its future is totally bleak said Inder Kumar a KP youth from Purkhoo. |
