Early Times Report

Rajouri, Jan 18: Within 24 hours of Brigadier level Flag Meeting at Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch district , called by the Indian Army to lodge protest against January 13 truce violation in Krishna Ghati sector, Pakistan army today again violate truce agreement reportedly to push a group of three militants.
On January 17, 'Flag Meeting' was held at Brigade Commander level in which Indian delegation was lead by Brig A Sengupta and Pakistan delegation was headed by Brig H Gul. According to Lt Col Manish Mehta, Jammu based PRO defence, Indian delegation conveyed its concern over infiltration attempt made by a terrorist group. He added that both sides also discussed issues related to improve the existing communication channels and 2003 truce agreement.
As per previous record Pakistan delegation denied any such truce violation from their side and instead they (Pakistan) said that it was a retaliatory firing as the Indian troops first opened the fire.
Though the Indian side claim that on January 17 the talks were held in cordial atmosphere and Pakistan had agreed to keep the sanctity of the Line of Control and respect the truce agreement yet Pakistan real face again exposed when its army today targeted Indian posts in Mendher sector under Krishna Ghati based 10 Brigade.
Sources said that at about 8 am Pakistan troops targeted Neelam and Roshni posts manned by Maraths. The firing was aimed to provide cover firing to a group of 3-4 terrorists who were heading towards the posts.
Lt Col Manish Mehta , PRO defence said that at about 8.30pm the group was detected by the alert troopers about 150 meters inside our territory who were heading towards the posts despite challenged by the Indian troopers.
He added when they didn't stop to head towards our posts they were fired upon by the troops and forced to disperse in the forest.
"The firing continued for about 10 minutes and search operation was in progress. This was second infiltration attempt during last 6 days and intelligence reports confirm that intrusion bids may increase from LoC as the terrorists planning to carry out disruptive activities around Republic Day" said PRO.
It was , according to army spokesman, second truce violation by the Pakistan from Poonch district in 2014. But in both the attempts terrorists didn't retaliate. This indicates that in both the attempts some Fidayeens were sent by the ISI to blow themselves near the forward posts to cause heavy loss to infrastructure (forward posts) and to the soldiers manning these post.
