Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18: The Congress leaders have said that the National Conference (NC) leaders are "mentally bankrupt" who in "utter frustration" are issuing statements "out of their whims."
Congress leaders in a joint statement issued in Jammu also made it clear that there will be no pre poll alliance with National Conference. They asked party workers to gear up for upcoming elections and to vote for Congress candidates, so that the party forms the next Government with any party with the Chief Minister from Congress.
"NC is dependent on the Congress and without its support they can lose the power and it is because of Congress that Omar Abdullah continues to be the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir," they made clear.
The signatories to the statement include MLC and Congress district President Doda, Naresh Kumar Gupta, MLC Subash Gupta, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, Secretary JKPCC Thakur Jugal Bhandari, Block Presidents and Secretaries of Congress party including Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Mohammad Iqbal Teli, Ch Abdul Rashid, Piyaray Lal Sharma, Akhtar Tatani, Asgar Khangi, Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, and Mahinder Singh Parihar.
They said that National Conference is losing ground in Jammu and Kashmir and the "utterance of NC Leaders who have no base among common masses is outcome of frustration as the hollow slogans of Autonomy has turned futile."
"People are well aware about what is happening in the Government. People are supreme and will cast their vote in favour of the Congress party. They know everything and are best judge," they said.
"The people know about the facts even National Conference in erstwhile district Doda tends to remain ignorant and behave like an ostrich", they maintained and advised National Conference not to "shed crocodile tears."
