Srinagar, Jan 18: Claims of Jammu and Kashmir tourism Minister, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, that his constituency has witnessed remarkable development during past over five years, today got exposed after protesters from his native town-Verinag held strong protest demonstration against him and raised slogans against the coalition government.
Reports said that the irate residents today raised slogans against the Minister as he evidently failed to visit the area wherehis neighbors were on continuous strike demanding up gradation of Primary Health center which according to locals sans basic facilities from past 62 years.
Residents today again alleged that state Tourism Minister, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, has evidently failed in projecting and mitigating the genuine problems of the area especially of the Primary health Center, which forced them to come out on roads and hold a protest demonstration against the authorities.
Repeatedly, Additional deputy commissioner Anantnag who today visited the area failed in convincing the residents.
"ADC visited primary health center during which he tried to assure the protesters but they didn't accept his repeated assurances." A local who was himself part of the protest told Early Times.
Pertinent to mention here that the Primary Health Center is at a distance of not more than half Kilometer from the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Minsiter, Ghulam Ahmad Mir in Verinag area of South Kashmir. According to Locals hospital besides being under staffed, continues to remain without basic facilities like X-ray and USG. |
