| Mission 2014: NC to woo winnable candidates of other parties | | Authorities direct to identify these potential candidates | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 18: With the beginning of the process for Assembly elections, the ruling National Conference has started utilizing services of administration to demoralize opposition especially People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The National Conference not only mis-using official machinery to demoralize PDP cadre, the party is also seeking help from the different wings of the police to prepare detailed reports about all the 87 Assembly segments and chances of different parties in these constituencies. Leadership of NC has realized that coming elections of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly would be very crucial as well as difficult so party does not want to take any chance. The party has also accepted that in the coming Assembly elections there would be triangular contest because Congress is also emerged as strong force in Kashmir valley so there would be three main players for powers in this year. Insiders in the corridors of powers said that NC has been utilizing services of all departments but biggest task has been given to the police and concerned officers have been asked to keep a watch on the activities of opposition parties and as well as Congress party. Different wings of the police have assigned the job to prepare reports of rallies to be addressed by the opposition parties and coalition partner also. In the reports, the NC has reportedly sought exact turn out in the rally, important leaders to be present in the rally and mood of the people. Different wings of the police have also asked to prepare reports of potential candidates in the all the 87 Assembly segments who are in winnable position. Party is not only taking feed back about its own candidate but also regarding winnable candidates of other parties so that these winnable candidates should be wooed to join NC before Assembly elections. On the basis of these reports, NC would start talks with potential candidates of other parties also to win maximum seats in the coming Assembly elections. |
