Early Times REport

Bhaderwah, Jan 18: Residents of Halyia area in Bhaderwah today threatened to boycott elections if their long pending issues would not be addressed.
The residents alleged that their area is lacking development owing to want of infrastructural development and the worsening conditions of road and transport.
Condition of the road and street network of the Bhaderwah is very poor and no repairs have been done over the years, is the common refrain of the residents. It is said that the roads and streets are the lifeline of development and if you want to see the development of a particular area just go and watch the roads.
Keeping this in view, we can say that the inhabitants of Halyia locality ward number 13 and other nearby areas are up in arms against the government for its failure to repair dilapidated street stretch which is the boundary and main connectivity to area from green clony Bhaderwah .According to the locals, half kilometer long street to Halyia locality which is based on hundreds of households and regularly pay tax to Municipal Committee Bhaderwah is in pathetic condition from Green colony to Halyia . "The street has numerous potholes due to which people not walk on street in night and morning hours. Many persons have developed health problems due to the dust clouds. "People residing on either side of road are worst sufferers. We cannot sit in our balconies or lawns. Condition is such worse that we cannot even open the windows of our houses. Each time a vehicle passes through, a cloud of dust enters inside," said Wasim.
