| Jashan-E-Virasat celebrated at GGM Science College | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 21: Jashan-E-Virasat was celebrated with great favour and enthusiasm at GGM Science College. Dr. K.S. Rao, Union Minister, Textile Industry GOI was the chief guest on the occasion and Special guests on the occasion were Illa Arun, renowned Singer and Zohra Chatterji, Secretary textile industry GOI who were welcomed by Rama Pandey, CEO Montage Films, Dr. N.K. Resutra, Nodal Principal and Prof. Hemla Aggarwal Principal GCW Parade. The programme started with cultural programme in which about 14 Government Degree Colleges participated. The colourful folk dances, and the melodious folk songs enthralled the audience. Three renowned dignitaries CD Mangotra, Bashir Mast-ana and Dhian Singh who have contribute in preserving the heritage of the state were honoured with Virasat Shree. The Sanskrit Raghunath Library was also honored with Virasat Shree for being the Oldest and preservance of Literature. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of Rama Pandey and the participation of all the colleges to make this a Mega event a success. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries along with judges visited the various stalls put up by the Colleges depicted the cultural heritage. Traditional cuisine Slogan writing , Chazza Toran and banner prepared with the traditional concepts were displayed in the stall. In the valedictory function Kuldeep Khudda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner was the chief guest and Illa Arun presided over the function. The students were adjudged 1st and 2nd for various events .Special Trophy was give GDC, Udhampur and GGM Science College. The virasat Trophy was handed over to the winning college GCW Parade for the second time.
