Bhim Singh tops default list
with Rs 4.10 lac outstanding

JAMMU, Jan 21: Department of Hospitality and Protocol in Jammu and Kashmir has published a list of 43 Ministers/Ex-Ministers/Legislators/Ex-Legislators against whom there is an outstanding of Rs. 11,23,958 on account of lodging charges at Circuit House Srinagar.
As per the details available with Early Times, the defaulters include Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra against whom there is an outstanding of Rs. 21528 after he paid an amount of Rs. 43252 out of total outstanding of Rs. 64780, Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Assembly also owed Rs. 15940 to the department while Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand owed outstanding of Rs. 3380.
While scrutinizing the list of defaulters, Supremo of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Prof. Bhim Singh tops the list of the defaulters having an outstanding of Rs. 410077 followed by Ex-MLC Bashir Ahmed Naz having outstanding of Rs. 186840, MLA Radhey Sham Sharma Rs. 131470, MLC Syed Rafiq Shah Rs. 64864, Ex-MLA Dr. Ramesh Chander Sharma Rs. 64508, Vice Chairman OBC Kuldeep Raj Verma Rs. 58980 are the major defaulters. Among the others Ex-MLA Dr. Jatinder Singh owed outstanding of Rs. 3600, MLA Yaspal Kundal Rs. 400, MLA Gh. Mohammd Rs. 23945, Ex-MLA Raman Mattoo Rs. 800, Ex-MLA Jughal Kishore Rs.800, MLA Chowdhary Mohammad Aslam Rs. 13246, Ex-MLC Lal Mohammd Sabir Rs. 430, Chowdhary Talib Hussain Rs. 1800, MLA Bimla Luthra Rs. 1835, Ex-MLA Kanta Andotra Rs. 600, Ex-Minister Mirza Abdul Rashid Rs. 5400, Ex-MLA Garu Ram Rs. 1000, Ex-MLA Mula Ram Rs. 1800, MLA Ashwani Kumar Sharma Rs 3400, MoS Shabir Ahmed Khan Rs. 22085, MP Lal Singh Rs. 1200, MoS Manohar Lal Sharma Rs. 10040, Ex-Minister Abdul Gani Malik Rs. 13200, Ex-Minister Jag Jevan Lal Rs. 1200, MLC B R Kundal Rs. 1000, MLA Mansoor Hussain Rs. 400, Minister Abdul Rahim Rather Rs. 1400, Javed Ahmed Dar Rs. 1800, MLA Charanjeet Singh Jasrotia Rs. 1560, MLA Nasir Aslam Wani Rs. 3900, Ex-Minister RS Chib Rs. 15080, MLA Aijaz Jan Rs. 3380,Minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir 4940, Miniser Ajay Sadotra 1820, MLA R S Sharma 18720 till 13-06-2013. In order to recover the outstanding dues from Ministers/Ex-Ministers/Legislators/Ex-Legislators on account of lodging charges of Circuit House Srinagar, Director General Hospitality and Protocol vide letter No: DHP/Acctts-2013/1519-22 Dated 27-11-2013 wrote a letter to Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council wherein he stated that the honorable members are being provided accommodation in the circuit houses but at the time of check out they do not bother to pay lodging charges. He urged upon the concerned authorities to intimate the outstanding to the concerned Legislators/Ministers with the request to pay the same to the department at the earliest. Among the 43 defaulters, only Ex-MLC Murtaza Khan and Mohammad Amin Butt cleared the outstanding pending against them. Murtaza Ahmed Khan deposited an amount of Rs. 7095 and Mohammad Amin Butt deposited Rs. 3600 till date. |
