Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 21: Special Anti-Corruption court here Tuesday granted time till tomorrow to Crime Branch for filing objections to the fresh plea for bail moved by Sajad Ahmad, one of the accused in the multi-million Common Entrance Test paper selling scam in 2012. Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Kashmir, M L Manhas, granted the time after Chief Prosecution Officer of Crime Branch Khalid Muzaffar sought time for filing the objections. The court posted the case for hearing tomorrow. Sajad Ahmad was arrested on November 15 last year by the Crime Branch for investigation revealed his involvement in the scam. Sajad was arrested on November 15 for allegedly selling CET papers in 2012 to candidates through another broker. According to Crime Branch, Sajad, a resident of south Kashmir district of Kulgam, had received question papers of Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Farooq Ahmad Itoo, the kingpin in the scam, at Nishat in outskirts of Srinagar and distributed it among various candidates through one Haroon Rashid of Dayalgam Anantnag. The court on December 10 rejected bail plea of Sajjad, ruling "jail and not bail as appropriate remedy" for him. |
