JAMMU, Jan 21: The University Grants Commission has granted recognition to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu under section 22 of the University Grants Commission act, 1956.
According to press release, the recognition by UGC shall enable the University to get financial assistance for various research projects, post doctoral fellowships and other related grants under section 12 B of UGC act, 1956.
It is pertinent to mention that SKUAST-Jammu was established by amending the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Act in the year 1999 with the jurisdiction in Jammu division of Jammu & Kashmir state.
The notification has been released by University Grants Commission, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi in favour of SKUAST-Jammu.
