JAMMU, Nov 2: Jhanvi Pandoh shall take on Shreya in the sub-junior girls' singles final if the ongoing Jammu District Table Tennis Championship, organised by J&K Table Tennis Association, at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
In the semifinals, played today, Jhanvi defeated Iknoor in straight sets of 11-09, 11-07, 11-05 while Shreya trounced Ashmeet Kour 3-0 (11-03, 11-04, 11-08. Earlier, Jhanvi, Shreya and Meghna got bye in the first round considering their last year's standings.
The Results: quarterfinals: Jhanvi bt Simrin Kour 11-03, 11-05; Iknoor bt Meghna Jain 11-09, 08-11, 11-08; Ashmeet Kour bt Bhavya 11-09, 09-11, 11-08; Shreya bt Archita Kesar 11-04, 11-08. Pre-quarterfinals: Simran Kour bt Duchen 11-07, 11-06; Iknoor got walkover Mannat; Asmeet Kour bt Bhavya 11-09, 08-11, 11-08; Bhavya bt Aditi Sharma 11-02, 11-04; Archita Kesar bt Harleen Kour 11-04, 11-05.
Meanwhile, the first round of the competition took place in junior boys' category today. As many as 20 matches were played in the opening round.
