Chaos, confusion grip BJP in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Nov 2: Notwithstanding tall claims of the over-confident BJP to achieve the target of Plus 44 seats, chaos and confusion has gripped BJP in Kathua district which is considered as strong hold of the party. It was all due to the over-whelming support of Kathua district that BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh had managed to defeat a political stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad but now situation in the party is deteriorating with every passing day. Sitting MLA from Bani Master Lal Chand has openly raised banner of revolt if mandate was not given to him. Similarly situation is not clear about Billawar, Basohli, Hiranagar and Kathua segments. Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Satish Sharma and Dr Nirmal Singh are projecting themselves as candidates for Billawar seat while as sitting MLA Jagdish Sapolia and two-time Lok Sabha member Choudhary Lal Singh are staking claims in Basohli seat. On Hiranagar seat, sitting MLA Durga Dass has started campaigning but former MLA Prem Lal is also asking the people he will get the mandate. Situation is worst in Kathua seat, nearly a dozen "potential" candidates are staking their claims on that seat. Every Tom Dick and Harry is claiming that he is going to get the mandate due to their proximity with senior leaders. Political observers believed that things are not going in right direction in Kathua district as far as BJP is concerned. Other political parties are eagerly watching infighting in the BJP. |
