State rulers v/s country saviors 11/2/2014 10:51:02 PM MS NAZKI Contrary to the novice Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, the people living at the forward areas of Line of Control in Mendhar has appreciated the attempts and the valor of the security forces of India including army and BSF for providing them all kind of support to survive, when the state government, which is staking claim to be people friendly, had failed to access the people of forward area and left them on mercy of God. The security forces had played a marvelous role to provide all necessary things to survive in the far flung areas, when the temperature has so fallen down that the survival without the warmer equipments, which have been provided by the security forces. The people of the forward area said that army for them is next to God and demanded that army should not be removed in the interest of common people. The sarpanch of the area Shadam Khan said that the people of locality are surviving in the extreme cold due to security forces and not due to state government, who had come into power with our votes and then they made very big promises but no one has been translated into reality. He further said that security forces had played a major role in saving the people, which the Omar led government had failed to do. He said that there are so many villages in forward areas and people are suffering at the hands of state government in every aspect, whereas the security forces including army and BSF have come forward for the rescue of people from the several problems, which have been created by the extreme cold. He said that people of the locality were covered under the SRO 194 at the status of International Border (IB) and were provided shelter during massive shelling from across the border. The people have suffered a lot and made supreme sacrifices of their kith and kin. There are more then 20000 population residing in those villages. The villages fall in Balakote forward sector included Sandote, Dhabbsi, Lanjoite, Sewhla, Dharati, Panjhari, Dhara, Chhappetcher, Kanga and other and 32 schools are operating those villages but security forces are responsible for the smooth functioning of the schools and study of students. In Balakote sector several regiments are working including 37RR, 39RR 15 BIHAR 6 RAJPUT 15 MAHAR 1ST MAHAR 3 GRINDIER 5 GRINDIER 38 RR, 49RR 43 RR 97 Artilery regiment, 49 RR 38 BN BSF , 62 BN BSF Battalion of BSF and 88 Battalion of BSF.
