| Kalakot MLA indicted for violating MCC | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 2: MLA from Kalakot reportedly could be the first victim of a violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Rajouri district.
Basharat Hussain of Kalakot constituency said that the MLA was issued show cause notice after he had organized a motor rally from Kalakot to Shahdra (Thanamandi tehsil) without the permission from the concerned election officials.
On Saturday MLA in his reply said that he has not made any violation of MCC as indicted by the election authorities. To the allegations MLA said that he had left Kalakot along with his family members and relatives in few cars to seek the blessing of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah at his world famous Ziarat situated at Shahdra and was joined on way by some of his supporters who joined his cavalcade.
He has also said that as his candidature has yet not been announced so it could not be considered as violation of MCC.
Flying squads noticed the presence of large number of vehicles heading towards Shadra Sharief and informed the District Election Officer (DEO).
DEO directed Nodal Officer MCC to verify the complaint and accordingly RO, Kalakot constituency was informed and asked to initiate action.
A show cause notice was issued to the MLA and before 8 pm on Saturday , MLA was asked to reply the notice. |
