As poll bugle sounds, leaders from Valley try to woo migrant voters

JAMMU, Nov 2 : With Election Commission of India sounding the bugle of Assembly elections in the State, the leaders of various political parties have started wooing the migrants to seek their votes.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which is riding on anti incumbency wave against the coalition government is leaving no stone unturned to woo the migrant voters.
The Party has given such importance to votes of displaced Pandits that Mehbooba Mufti along with senior Party leaders, Sartaj Madni, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat visited various localities of Jammu and some migrant camps to woo the Pandit voters.
It was followed by the visit of sitting MLAs and Party candidates from Pahalgam and Shangus Constituencies, Rafiq Mir and Peerzada Mansoor respectively. They too held the meetings with migrants of their constituencies in different parts of Jammu and appealed them to vote for their Party. The two leaders also constituted the migrant cell of their constituencies and entrusted the responsibility of campaigning to them in Jammu.
This was followed by the visit of Party candidate from Kokernag Assembly segment in South Kashmiri district of Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather along with senior Party leader Abdul Salam Rishi today. he also organized a meeting at Jagi Darbar here and Jagti camp appealing the migrants to vote for the Party which ahs overall development its total poll plank.
The BJP has already started campaigning among the migrants thoughParty is yet to announce its candidates from Valley.
Its leaders are oranising public meetings in every nook and corner of Jammu and migrant camps organizing displaced Pandits to seek their vote for Party. BJP which is ruling at Centre has even assured to simplify the election process for Pandits to ensure that more and more migrants are able to exercise their franchise.
Besides these two parties newly constituted JK Peoples Republic Party (PRP) has also started a campaign among migrant voters. Its official spokesman Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani who is party candidate from prestigious Ganderbal Assembly seat also visited various migrant area here and interacted with the displaced people from his Constituency seeking the vote for him.
Mir assured the migrants that his party will not only ensure their honourable and dignified return but ensure the security of their all religious places, restoration of their rights and work for restoration of composite culture in Valley so that the members of both Hindu and Muslim communities live like brothers as earlier.
