NMC demands 20% interim relief to employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 2: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged the Chairman of the 7th Pay Commission recommend that 20% interim relief be given to all Central and State Government employees and pensioners, merger of 50% DA into basic pay/ pension adding that these recommendations in his interim report be submitted to the Central Government. Shastri said in a letter to 7th Pay Commission Chairman Dr. retired Justice A.K Mathur that along with the State and Central Government employees, the interim relief of 20% of basic pay/ pension be also extended to pensioners too and that these demands be recommended without any further delay, so that confusion and uncertainty among the salaried class well come to end. Shastri emphasised that whenever the recommendation of the commission are submitted to the Central government, the Commission should extend these recommendations to the state governments in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular. In addition to these, the NMC has also demanded on its previous demands for raising the retirement age to 62 and regulations of the services of all daily wagers beside 50% DA merger. Last month, the NMC had released its draft reply to the 7th Central Pay Commission questionnaire. |
