Harsh Dev loses to BJP, Mankotia to Independent by huge margins

Jammu, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) which had three MLAs in the last Assembly has been completely washed out from the political scenario of the state.
The shocking results for the party came due to the strong Modi wave in Jammu region of the state as of the total three MLAs of the JKNPP in Udhampur, Samba and Ramnagar assembly segment, two i.e. Harsh Dev Singh-Party Chairperson and incumbent MLA from Ramnagar assembly segment along with Yash Pal Kundal-Party General Secretary and incumbent MLA from Samba assembly segment have lost to Ranbir Singh Pathania and Davinder Kumar Manyal of Bhartiya Janta Party.
Harsh Dev Singh lost to Pathania of BJP by a margin of 17,420 votes as Pathania bagged 45,891 votes whereas Harsh Dev Singh got 28,471 votes in Ramnagar assembly segment.
Yash Pal Kundal of NPP from Samba assembly segment was trailed by a huge margin of 22,118 votes by Davinder Kumar Manyal of BJP as Manyal bagged 34,075 votes against 11,957 votes bagged by Kundal of JKNPP.
Meanwhile Balwant Singh Mankotia-the Party President and incumbent MLA from Udhampur assembly segment lost to sidelined BJP leader Pawan Gupta who contested elections as an independent candidate by a margin of 14,650 votes as Gupta got 36,226 votes against B S Mankotia's 21,576 votes respectively.
Meanwhile two new faces of the party Dhani Ram Atri and Pawan Dev Singh who contested from Chenani and Bani assembly segment and were anticipated as the influential candidates also lost to BJP in both the assembly segments.
In Chenani constituency, Dina Nath Bhagat, former Congress leader who fought on the mandate of BJP for the first time got 33,047 votes whereas Dhani Ram Atri of JKNPP got only 11,992 votes hence defeated by the BJP leader Dina Nath Bhagat by a huge margin of 21,055 votes. Atri was third in the table after first runner-up from Congress Krishan Chander Bhaghat who got 12,715 votes.
In Bani assembly segment, Pawan Dev Singh of JKNPP is third runner-up in the list after Jeevan Lal of BJP, Ghulam Hyder Malik of Congress and Independent candidate and incumbent BJP MLA Master Lal Chand. Jeevan Lal of BJP got 12,841 votes, Ghulam Hyder Malik got 8429 votes, Master Lal Chand got 5012 votes and Pawan Dev Singh got only 2916 votes respectively.
Worthwhile to mention here that the voting share of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party is 2.0% of the total vote with 95941 as vote count for the party.
