BJP creates history in Kathua 12/23/2014 11:27:36 PM Arun Trisal Early Times Report Kathua, Dec 23: Bharatiya Janta Party has come out with flying colours across Jammu province and made a history in District Kathua where BJP swept all the five seats. BJP's senior stalwart Dr Nirmal Singh defeated Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Congress MoS from Billawar seat with a large margin of 18ooo. Rajeev Singh Jasrotia, BJP beat Charnjeet Singh Jasrotia, Independent and sitting MLA. Besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rallies in District Kathua,BJP's union ministers, Film stars and leaders from BJP's ruling states held a large number of election rallies and launched door to door campaigns to win all the five seats of the district. Dr Nirmal Singh, newly MLA from Billawar said that people of the constituency who fed up to the prejudiced attitude of the former MoS, sought change in the constituency and in general politics of the state. He added that Modi's wave and hard works done by workers during campaign had ensured his victory. Dr Singh ensured to redress basic amenities of constituency, bring development and avenue for employment. He added that BJP likely to redress J&K refugees' demands, conduct debate on Article 370. Jeevan Lal newly elected BJP MLA from Bani sought development of the mountainous areas and ensured to work for the development and installation of Hydel projects, road connectivity, small industries units and corruption free constituency. He ensured to promote tourism in the mountainous area. Kuldeep Raj Kaali, BJP MLA from Hiranagar, ensured to work for the people and try to redress all basic amenities of the constituency. He promised to work with honesty. Rajeev Jasrotia thanked people of all the three regions Kandi, Andhar and Urban areas of Kathua constituency. He said that it was not possible to win the seat without the trust of all the three regions of the constituency. He ensured to bring revolution of development of the constituency and trailer of which would be revealed soon. It is pertinent to mention here that Kathua city decked into saffron colors as counting of votes from all the constituency had been done at Degree College Kathua.
