Jugal ready to face ire over wrong choice of leader in Nagrota, Udhampur assembly segments | Reshuffling in state BJP on cards | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 23: As the two important and crucial assembly segments of Udhampur and Nagrota slipped away from the BJP's kitty due to the wrong choice of the state leadership and favouritism over the potential and deserving candidates, reshuffle, as per sources in the state cadre of BJP is on cards. As per insiders, soon after the formation of government in the state, BJP Parliamentary board will be reshuffling the state unit and Jugal Kishore Sharma-the incumbent State President of the party will be replaced from the post of State President along with the BJYM President Ravinder Raina who has secured 37,374 votes defeating Surinder Chodhary of PDP by a margin of 9,503 votes who had secured 27871 votes in Nowshehra constituency. Meanwhile Jugal Kishore Sharma, the incumbent State President of the BJP has owned the mistake for fielding wrong candidates from both the assembly segments of Udhampur and Nagrota though he defended his brother Nand Kishore Sharma saying, "Who is the best candidate other than Nand Kishore Sharma from the Nagrota assembly segment?" Further replying a question of Early Times over taking Pawan Gupta back into the party fold and earlier stand of Jugal Kishore Sharma when he had issued a statement to the press and has maintained that expulsion of Gupta from the BJP is irrevocable, Sharma took a U-turn and said that it was his personal decision and not of BJP's Parliamentary board. Jugal said a decision about whether to take Gupta back into the party fold or not will be taken by BJP's parliamentary board and not by the state unit of the Bhartiya Janta Party. Brother of Jugal Kishore Sharma, Nand Kishore Sharma was trailed by Devinder Rana of National Conference by a margin of 4,048 votes as Rana has got 23,678 votes whereas Nand Kishore Sharma has bagged 19,630 votes from Nagrota Assembly segment. As far as the Udhampur assembly segment is concerned, BJP official nominee stood at number three in the table as BJP's sidelined leader and son of former MLA from Udhampur Late Shiv Charan Gupta, Pawan Gupta bagged highest 36226 votes with Balwant Singh Mankotia of JKNPP the first runner up getting 21,576 votes and BJP's candidate Pawan Khajuria is second runner up bagging 20174 votes. Gupta defeated Balwant Singh Mankotia of JKNPP by 14,650 votes whereas Pawan Khajuria of BJP is trailed by 16,052 votes. |
