JAMMU, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir clinched two medals, including a gold, in the recently held Senior National Judo Championship at Haridwar in Uttarakhand. While Shaweta Thakur won gold, Nippu Jamwal secured a bronze medal. Other judokas, Danish Sharma, Ranjodh Singh and Sadaf Iqbal had to contain with fourth and sixth positions respectively. All these judokas are regular trainees at Regional Coaching Centre (RCC) at MA Stadium, here, a handout issued here today informed. In this national event, 36 teams representing various states and departmental teams contested for the top honours. The team was accompanied by Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia and Suraj Bhan Singh as officials. |
