Jammu, Dec 23: Dogri Sanstha (Regd) celebrated 'Dogri Maanta Din, by organizing a special poetic symposium at Dogri Bhawan, Jammu yesterday with utmost participation of poets, writers, intellectuals and artists despite the cold weather conditions. About two dozens poets belonging to three generations presented their poems, ghazals, choumukhe and songs in the jam packed hall of the Sanstha. Presiding over the function noted linguistic and writer Dr.Veena Gupta said that inclusion of Dogri in the 8th schedule of Indian constitution had accorded national honour to Dogri and Dogras opening new vistas of development in varied fields of language, culture and employment. Now it depends on the efforts of Dogri scholars, intellectuals and writers to get maximum benefits of the facilities and incentives offered by the government to regional languages including Dogri . Dr Lalit Magotra former president of Dogri Sanstha and Convener Dogri Advisory Board ,Sahitya Akademy also spoke on this occasion. Earlier welcoming the gathering Chhatrapal ,president ,Dogri Sanstha informed that a series of programmes have been proposed to mark the Maanta Divas which includes a Musical evening on 30th Dec and two interactive programmes for youth in January 2015. The poetic symposium was conducted by noted poet Dr. Nirmal Vindod. Sweets were distributed to jubilate the celebration. Prominent among those present on this occasion Dr. Usha Vyas , Shailendra Singh, Gianeshwar, Sham Talib, Ved Uppal, Sushil Begana, Rattan Bhardwaj, Nirmal Vikram, Dr. Chanchal Bhaseen, Chandu Bhau, Dr. Rattan Basotra, Rajeshwar Bhakhri, Er Sunil Sharma, Aarsh Dalmotra, H.C. Jhalmeria, Rattan Doshi, Promila Manhas and Ravi Shanker. |
