Anantnag, Dec 23: Former Tourism Minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir today blamed Panchayat members (village heads) for his defeat and accused them of discriminating the people. Mir who lost Dooru Assembly segment of Anantnag district to his PDP rival Syed Farooq Indrabi told media in Anantnag, "Besides the anti-incumbency factor, Panchayat members, who discriminated the people, are responsible for my defeat." Mir said that he had done his best to develop all sectors in the constituency and the results had surprised him. "No one can criticize me over the development but anti-incumbency and discrimination by the Panchayat members in past three years became the reason for my debacle," he said, adding he was ready to play the role of opposition in the constituency. "Let's see what he will do" Mir added. Mir said that it was up to the high command which can take decision on government formation.
