| Powergrid NRTS-II organizes road show, seminar on concluding day of Vigilance Awareness Week | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 4: Power Grid Corporation of India observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 31st October to 5th November 2016 in its all offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II.
During the Vigilance Awareness Week, several programmes were organized in various schools and colleges apart from site offices for creating awareness among the employees ,their family members and general masses highlighting evils of corruption and its impact on our society.
On the concluding day, a seminar on "Moral values, ethics and good governance practices" was organized in which Ashok Bhan, ex- Director General of Police was chief guest.
Anil Jain, executive director Powergrid Northern Region-II, S.D.Joshi GM (Projects), R.V.S.Kushwaha GM (AM) also graced the occasion.
All the employees posted at Regional Headquarters of Powergrid alongwith their family members were present on this occasion.
Ashok Bhan appreciated the efforts of Powergrid in preventing corruption in its functioning. He in his presentation highlighted the fact that all our acts must be citizen centric. He gave detailed insight into "Desirable Citizen - Centric Model".
Bhan gave thrust to organizing such programmes on regular intervals so that people are able to review their conduct. He urged upon the employees present there to inculcate the concept of internal vigilance. He urged upon the people in public life to act as custodians of people's money and be transparent in discharge of their functions
Anil Jain on this occasion in his address said that corruption is an evil in our society which needs to be fought united. He also outlined various steps being taken by Powergrid in dealing with this social menace.
At the end of the Seminar, prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competitions. The Vote of thanks was presented by R.Narayan, Chief Manager(HR).
Earlier in the day a road show was organised by Powergrid near its Regional Head Quarters at Bahu Plaza wherein public awareness on various facets of Integrity and honesty and evils of corruption was given to the general public. Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh was the chief guest on this occasion. He appreciated the efforts of Powergrid for bringing about awareness among the people on the issue of corruption. He urged Powergrid to involve social and religious personalities in bringing about the awareness on this issue among the masses.
Anil Jain, executive Director thanked Simrandeep Singh for his valuable suggestions and assured to do so in future.
